Waxing

Pre-Wax Checklist

2-3 weeks before you come in for your appointment–

STOP SHAVING!! Hair should be at least ¼” long; about the length of a grain of rice. We know it’s difficult to resist but do not shave, and do not use your trimmers.  If your hair isn’t 1/4 of an inch long then the wax will not pull, and often times when trimmers are used, the hair is trimmed too short by accident. Believe it or not, your hair can NEVER be too long for waxing.

Big event?  It’s important to schedule your wax appointment at least 2 days prior to your shindig – especially if you are a wax virgin.  This will give your skin a chance to calm down in the case that you experience any reactions. Reactions are not always to be expected but it’s better to be on the safe side just in case!

Worried about pain? 30 mins before, some clients prefer to take something to help manage the sting. Ask your doctor what options would be right for you.  We recommend ibuprofen. Don’t use booze because it doesn’t help – and believe us, we’ve tried!!

Why Choose Waxing?

Waxing is the only hair removal service that will give you the immediate results you’re looking for! Consistent waxing weakens and eventually damages the hair follicle which results in slower, finer, & more sparse hair growth! Shaving and using things like Nair only removes the hair from the surface, (and at a horrible angle!) leaving you with thicker/more dense hair.

Laser hair removal can be great, however it is more of a financial commitment with zero guarantees. This is why we prefer waxing because everyone is a candidate!

  • We know you’re excited to show off that smooth skin but PLEASE avoid the gym, tight clothing, tanning, swimming, hot tubs, hot or cold baths, or sauna for a minimum 24 hours after waxing. Immediately after a wax your pores are more exposed, so avoiding these things will help you avoid sitting in bacteria.
  • Avoid touching the waxed area and we are sorry to break this to ya but, please avoid sexy time for 24 hours to again help prevent any and all bacteria from getting into those open follicles.
  • Do not use any products on the waxed area until the following day and when you do, we recommend anti bacterial soap, tend skin, or pfb vanish.
  • Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate…did we say exfoliate?
  • DON’T SHAVE, EVER!! We like to see our clients commit to coming in for consistent waxes for at least 3 months. This ensures you will experience optimal results.
  • Keep those hair follicles clean by showering immediately after exercise and sweating.
  • Feeling a little on the dry side? Moisturize!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get waxed while on my period?

You can! But keep in mind – due to hormones – you might be a tad more sensitive. If you’re concerned with the increased sensitivity, avoid waxing while on your period as well as 3 days before and after your cycle. Another thing clients can experience is being overly sensitive to the warmth of the wax. So if you are someone with a sensitivity to the heat in general, you may want to skip coming in on or around your cycle all together.

What about while preggo?

Of course – right up to your due date! We have a super comfy and super angled tempurpedic pillow to prop you mommies up comfortably during your visit! Wanna know what else? We LOVE when clients bring those babies in after delivery! Our waxing rooms are plenty big for the 3 of us, and we just loveee babies, so if you think you’d be the first mommy to get waxed while breast feeding your little one, think again!
